Welcome to Ethical Atheist. This site was completely nuked and then redesigned in September 2010. Originally a little used discussion forum it is now a source for information about atheism for those curious about adopting a reality based lifestyle choice.

Atheism is the absence of any theistic belief, the state of not actively believing in any of the thousands of deities invented by human beings in the last 100,000 years. Atheism is the natural state of all living things, as no newborn child has yet been infected with any ancient superstitions. This site promotes atheism because it is both the logical and the ethical position to take in a world where religious people fly planes into skyscrapers, blow themselves up on crowded busses, and do all sorts of horrible things in the name of an imaginary sky monster.

Videos

Most of the pages on this site offer you videos found on YouTube and Vimeo that deal directly and indirectly with the subject of atheism. The videos will open in a new layer above the pages that present their thumbnails, and when available you'll be shown the 720p high definition version of each video.

If the videos stutter excessively as you are watching them it may indicate that your current connection is too slow for hi def video, or perhaps that your computer lacks the processing power required. Try using the popup menu on the bottom right of the video layer to select a lower resolution and thus a lower bitrate. We've carefully designed the video pages to provide you with a wide variety and high quality. Enjoy!

News

We use software to grab news feeds on the subject of atheism and then present the items found with a summary on our News Page. A background process keeps the news items updated, so be sure to check the atheism news on each visit.
